Portrait of Valentin Szczupak

Valentin SzczupakSenior Web3 & AI engineer

Ambitious ideas.
Production reality.

I turn complex Web3 and AI systems into products people actually use. Senior engineering for founders and teams who need to get the difficult things shipped.

Wallets, interfaces, and independent systems. A selection of the work behind the words.

Core wallet & product engineering

The details matter
when it’s your wallet.

Core developer on Vultisig, a multichain self custody wallet. React Native and Rust, signing flows, and the work of getting a mobile product into people’s hands.

My contribution

Senior engineer since 2025. Core wallet development includes signing across eight chains and releases on the App Store and Google Play.

Interface & wallet integrations

578 merged PRs.
A public body of work.

Frontend engineering for ShapeShift’s open source DeFi platform. Contributions across the interface, swap flows, and wallet integrations.

My contribution

Frontend engineer from 2024 to 2025. 578 merged pull requests across the ShapeShift web repository, verified in September 2026.

Native tools & agent operations

Built to operate.
Not just to demonstrate.

Independent AI tooling alongside live agent systems. A public starting point: a native desktop workspace with persistent chats and connected services.

What is public

The desktop AI dashboard is a Rust repository. The wider agent systems cover monitoring, triage, and operations; an architecture walkthrough is available on a call. The repository is an example of the tooling, not a claim that the whole fleet is public.

Less distance between
the idea and the product.

An engineer who can see the whole system, then get into the details that make it work.

Product engineering

Take difficult features from architecture to release. React Native, TypeScript, wallet integrations, and the product decisions between them.

Technical consulting

Get a second set of experienced eyes on wallet architecture, Web3 integration plans, or an AI roadmap before committing the team.

Paid consulting callsFocus and terms agreed first

Autonomous AI systems

Connect agents, tools, and operational controls into a working system. Monitoring, triage, and recurring workflows, not just another demo.

Discovery before a proposalScope built around the actual workflow

Fixed scope engagements above €15,000, once discovery establishes clear deliverables and acceptance criteria. Below that, day rate only.

Tools without systems
are shelfware.
I build the systems.

The interface, the integration, the operational details. Good engineering connects them.

Clear thinking.
Then working software.

No grand promises before understanding the problem. We agree on the next useful step, then build it.

  1. Find the constraint

Talk through the outcome, the existing system, and the decision that needs resolving. Agree on scope before implementation begins.

  2. Build a working slice

Start with the difficult part. Put something usable in front of the team, make the tradeoffs explicit, and adjust with evidence.

  3. Ship and hand over

Iterate, test, document, and release. Leave the code and the context in a state your team can maintain.

A career close
to the product.

From commerce and payments to wallets and AI. Different systems, the same commitment to the details.

A few practical
questions.

Clear terms make for
better working relationships.

Do you work on site?

No. Engagements are fully remote from Andorra, generally working European hours. We can discuss time zone overlap around the needs of the project.

What is your day rate?

Freelance engineering starts at €600 per day. Scope and duration determine the proposal. Consulting calls are billed hourly, with terms agreed before the call.

When could you start?

Email your brief and preferred timeline to confirm current capacity. I will give you a realistic answer based on the work already committed.

Do you accept fixed scope projects?

Yes, for fixed scope engagements above €15,000. Discovery needs to establish clear deliverables and acceptance criteria first. Below that threshold, I work on a day rate.

What languages do you work in?

French is my native language and I work professionally in English. Both are welcome for our conversations and project collaboration.

Can you walk me through the AI systems?

Yes. I can walk through the architecture and live systems on a call, including monitoring, triage, and operations. The desktop AI repository is a public example of the tooling, rather than a complete view of the agent fleet.

Where can I find your CV?

Read or download the PDF CV. The experience section above also includes all eight career chapters, with expandable role details.

What happens after I get in touch?

We compare the problem, timeline, and fit. If it makes sense to continue, we agree on the scope and next step before any implementation commitment. A conversation is the starting point, not an obligation to book a project.

Good work starts
with a conversation.

What are you building?
Tell me where you want to go, what’s in the way, and when it needs to happen.
